Auditing the Kelsas When Things Aren't Working Out

Auditing the Kelsas When Things Aren't Working Out

The Klesas, or afflictions, can be a powerful way to examine our conduct and our results in business when things aren’t working out. Think ‘using a thorn to remove another thorn’. So if ignorance, ego-ism, attachment, aversion or fear of death might sometimes cause you to falter, fear or freak out, enjoy this episode!

Also, DM me if you want to know first when tickets go on sale for the Abundant Yoga Teacher Retreat January 2023.

Using Arjuna's Flag to Work with Jealousy

Using Arjuna's Flag to Work with Jealousy

Jealousy is often demonised as ‘the worst’ emotion, and—as Yoga teachers—one we should be better than experiencing. But guess what? Jealousy has SO much to teach us! In this episode I’ve proposing a 3-part process based on the relationships between Hanuman and Ram as man and as God… I think it comes together… Let me know what you think!

Gourmet Lentils: Yes. Greyhound Farts: No.

I had a great coaching call this morning with my Patreon Contributors. We had good laugh at some of the decisions we can make when we are under pressure and not thinking super clearly. So in this episode I’ve distilled three of the mini lessons we covered in that session, just in case you might be allowing a farting greyhound (metaphorically or otherwise) on your retreat, too!

Asteya Real Talk: Do You Have Work To Do?

This is a difficult and important conversation, so please do check it out. Intellectual property, moral rights and the practice of ‘non-stealing’. Are there any potential boundary breaks in your Yoga business?

Still Loving It Through The Long Haul

Still Loving It Through The Long Haul

Today I’m joined by Deb Flashenberg, Founder and Director of the Prenatal Yoga Teacher in NYC. As you could imagine from someone with 20 years experience in the business, Deb has a lot of wisdom to share and our conversation ranges wonderfully from why every serious Yoga teacher should own a pelvis (in addition to the one that comes with most bodies), why we need to stick to high quality training, how things have changed in New York City (and beyond) over the years and more. Enjoy!

BONUS: Patreon Sample: The Panca-Krtyas as a Reminder to Be With What Is

This past week I've been mindful of a change in the energy in my business... due in part to a new person coming in to my life... ;)

For me, it is still surprisingly easy to trip back into old patterns of thinking about a 'slowing' in business. Am I being lazy? Am I destined for financial ruin? Now I can be more playful when these thoughts arise but when I began my business journey these patterns could take me out for days, if not weeks.

Remembering the 5 Acts of God helps me recalibrate to the ever-moving nature of life and business. I'm going through each of the stages and how they can show up for us in this Episode.

Why the Order of Tapas THEN Samtosa REALLY Matters

Why the Order of Tapas THEN Samtosa REALLY Matters

In the Tantrik Yoga tradition there are 10 Niyamas. Niyama 4 and 5 are importantly ordered: getting them out of order could mean you’re settling for less or feeling chronically dissatisfied. More nuanced than a ‘pay to play’ strategy, leaning into fiery, passionate HEALTHY self-discipline before settling into contentment could make all the difference in your life and business.
